Welcome to Travel Troves

Hello and welcome to Travel Troves. I am a twenty-something year-old Brit who loves to travel and photograph Europe’s landscapes and hidden gems. This is the first website I have ever built. As a freelance writer and photographer, I wanted a page to exhibit my work – whilst also showcasing my digital and media skills. Travel Troves describes my visits to the continent and around my home country. Some locations I have visited are the most famous and well-trodden, like capital cities. However, I also want to cast light on places lesser-known and overlooked – such as smaller towns and provincial areas. Where possible, I love to travel by train – the most sustainable and scenic way to travel in my opinion.

Whilst providing practical information and travel tips, I wanted to review and recollect the feel and sense of a place. Rather than instruct, I hope to inspire you to visit some of Europe’s wonderful hidden gems.
